So I got these beauties awhile back and they've been patiently waiting their turn. Super Black Lacquers (SBL) is a brand that I want to swatch the second they arrive. I've been so impressed with everything that Natalie Dee has created so far. Her Spring release includes five new shades. Except for the green, I swear Natalie is channeling my brain. I truly love her aesthetic. This first one is epic. Like I'm completely in love with this polish! The Haymaker has a dark purple base filled with neon red glitter. The combo is gorgeous and one I've not seen before. I seriously can't stop looking at it. If you can only get a single SBL polish...this should be it. My swatch is two coats of polish and one coat of topcoat.
The Grackle is a deep, shimmery, green-blue, sparkle in a black base. This has to be inspired by the bird! It's space-age-y in the best way. The formula was really nice. My photo doesn't do it justice. It looks like a car with a slightly glittery, almost mirror-like paint finish. This is two coats of polish and one coat of topcoat.
The Stag is pretty, no doubt...just not my thing. It's a Shrek green with a slight gold metallic shimmer. Natalie compares it to a beetle's shell. That's actually a spot-on description! This is two generous coats of polish and one coat of topcoat.
Majestic is a perfectly creamy medium lavender creme. I love a good creme. The formula was excellent and the shade is perfect for Spring. This is two coats and one coat of topcoat.
And finally, Framboise...be still my heart. It's sheer jelly base is packed with various sized glitters in black, matte pink, holo purple and matte white. I used three coats for opacity and finished with two coats of topcoat. Natalie recommends trying it with a matte topcoat too. I wore a full mani of Framboise to a get-together and it got lots of compliments!
SBL never disappoints. These are five solid winners. I love that they're not traditional Spring shades. Which one is your favorite?
