Good morning! If you follow me on social media, then you've seen this already. But I wanted to share it here because I'm super proud, PLUS I want to give a shout out to a few other bloggers who deserve a big thanks. Part 2 of my Blog Log series is in the the current issue of NAILPRO magazine. Woot! It's a bit surreal. This article focuses on the meat of the blog, from content to photography. As examples, I submitted several photos from bloggers that I really admire (and they all graciously agreed to give NAILPRO permission to use them). The mag was in my mailbox on Friday and I was thrilled to see a Manicurator mani, a Polish Chest mani, one of my swatches of the Polish-Aholic indie line and a full screenshot of my Mischo Beauty review were included! As of this posting, the current issue (February 2014) isn't available for download yet, but it will be soon! Visit www.nailpro.com and the link will appear on the top-right of the page. :)So what's a better way to get through a Monday than with some beautiful indies! I’ve had several of the KBShimmer Winter Collection polishes in my possession for awhile…just waiting their turn. (See a few of the KBShimmer 2013 Blogger Collection swatches here.) It’s no secret that I love KBShimmer…especially the latest holos and duochromes!! All swatches were photographed in naturel light and finished with KBShimmer Clearly on Top topcoat.
Shade Shifter is mostly a bright medium blue...that changes to orange to purple to almost red and more. It’s difficult to describe all of these colors! I loved wearing this. My swatch is two coats.
Pigment of My Imagination is a beautiful medium purple and blue multi-chrome that shifts to red and gold. This polish is like a chameleon. It looked completely blue in some light and completely purple in others. Then out would come these crazy shifts. My swatch doesn't catpure the gold well (maybe a little on the the thumb)...but it's definitely there. Formula was great. I used two coats.
Myth You Lots is Pigment of Imagination plus holo! It's so complex and pretty. The holo really softens the look in a great way. Again...you can't see much red/gold in my pic...but check out that bottle shot! I used three coats here.
Urban Camo has a multi-chrome finish that shifts from a beautiful green to lavender to an almost pinky silver. My swatch is 3 thin coats. You can also use one coat over black to achieve the same effect.
Pretty in Punk adds a linear holo finish to Urban Camo to create something really incredible. KBShimmer also recommends one swatch over black. I love how the pink comes out in the light. I used three coats here.
This is a fab bunch of polish! Unless you're a die-hard polish collector like me, you could get away with buying your favorite shade in one of the two variants (but you still need at least one of each! LOL). Both the Winter and Blogger Collections are available at kbshimmer.com. While you're there...be sure to check out her brand spanking new Valentine's Day Trio. (drool!) [kbshimmer image]
