NEW Pure Ice for 2014...Swatches and Review

 press sample
Hi all! It's Sunday evening...I rarely post on Sundays. My work has been insanely busy and I'm trying to catch up on the blog this weekend. Don't forget...TOMORROW is Lacquer Legion! Post your "reinvention" look and tag it #LLreinvention all over the web! Visit this post and follow the Lacquer Legion Facebook page to learn more.

Today I have six new Pure Ice polishes for 2014. Sometimes Pure Ice re-releases shades with new names. I haven't had a chance to research it, so I'm curious if any of these are repromotes. (If you know, please let me know and I'll add the info to the post.) [UPDATE: Pure Ice PR just contacted me and confirmed that all six shades are brand spanking new for 2014!] I've come to love Pure Ice as an affordable option in nail lacquer. They have a ton of colors and finishes and at only $1.97 a bottle, they're a great value. BTW, I took these swatch photos in indirect natural sunlight (instead of my normal setup). I seem to have better luck getting accurate color when I'm swatching paler shades. All swatches are finished with Pure Ice Girl on the Run topcoat.

Scandal is a dark chocolate brown. It seems like the word "chocolate" is thrown around a lot to describe brown...but this one seriously deserves it. It's all I could think about while polishing. LOL. I used two coats.

Pure Ice Scandal

Shore Bet is a warm gray beige. Given the color, I expected it to be chalky, but it wasn't. It's a great neutral and the formula was nice. This is two easy coats.

Teal Appeal is a deep teal blue. No staining issues. Two coats.

Happy Hour is a happy peach. My camera has real issues with any color that is remotely orange. In real life, it's much more punchy. Almost a light coral. Coverage was nice in two coats.

Satin Ribbon is a soft pink that's fairly sheer. I'm recovering from some staining (eeeeck). I loved the sheerness of this in two coats, but it wasn't enough to overcome the stain, so I went with a third coat. I have a soft spot in my heart for sheer pinks (that's all I wore for years and years). This shade isn't unique, of course, but it's a great version.

And last, but not least, this is Lavendare, a super soft and pretty light purple creme. My swatch is three coats.

Pure Ice Lavendare

Scandal is definitely my fave, followed by Lavendare. What are yours?
