Blogging for a Cause: The Lacquerologist for Polished Girlz

This morning I have one of the sweetest bloggers I know, Emily from The Lacquerologist! She's a licensed nail tech, salon owner, talented nail artist, blogger and friend and I'm delighted that she agreed to help! Her blog has such a great variety of swatches and nail art and I love that it comes from a working professional (plus...she's an Ohioan like me!) Thank you, Emily, for enthusiastically contributing to this series! Your positive energy is contagious!

For Emily's post, I'll be donating another $10 to the Polished Girlz!  If this is the first post you've read in the WPP "Blogging for a Cause" Guest Post Series...pop over to the intro post here to see what an amazing organization each of these bloggers are supporting with their participation.

Emily from The Lacquerologist

Hello polished friends! This is Emily from The Lacquerologist, and I am so excited to be here on work/play/polish today! Leslie is one of my blogging idols, not only because she is super talented at nails, but she is ultra-professional and so, so sweet! I've loved getting to know her over the last year and I really admire her :-) When she asked me to guest post, I, of course, said yes and set straight to work creating a holiday manicure worthy of WPP!

This sort of whimsical, abstract snowflake-y design was inspired by the first snow of the season...when it's all pretty and beautiful and magical still!  Leslie and I are both Ohio girls, so I know she understands what I mean!  I started with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as my base and used the saran wrap technique with Priti NYC Brussels Lace to create my textural base.  I then used my striping brush and three polishes from Philly Loves Lacquer to create the "flakes" - Byberry, Festivus for the Rest of Us, and River Rink.  I then went in with my dotting tool and Wet N Wild MegaLast Deadly Dose to fill in any empty space.  I love the contrast of the metallic and holographic finishes!

Thank you so much to Leslie for letting me be here on WPP! I hope everyone is having a
phenomenal holiday season enjoying family, friends, food and nail art!
