Blogging for a Cause: Chalkboard Nails for Polished Girlz

I'm super excited because the first guest blogger is the one, the only...Sarah from Chalkboard Nails! She's such a nail blogging icon. Plus, Sarah is as kind and professional as she is talented. She's been instrumental in helping me put together this guest post series. She graciously offered to make introductions to bloggers I didn't know. And with her referral...I was able to pull together a more-than-spectacular line-up! So thank you, Sarah...from the bottom of my heart! Beyond that, she needs no introduction! Please enjoy this amazing mani she's created to raise awareness for a wonderful cause!

I'll be donating my first $10 to the Polished Girlz! for Sarah's awesome post.  If this is the first post you've read in the WPP "Blogging for a Cause" Guest Post Series...pop over to the intro post here to see what an amazing organization each of these bloggers are supporting with their participation.

It's the holidays, and that means cocoa, scarves, twinkling lights, and... TEXTURE POLISH! Nothing says holiday like the sparkle of Liquid Sand. I knew I couldn't leave it out of my festive manicure for Leslie's guest post series benefiting the Polished Girlz!

This nail art started out with a white base. After letting it dry completely, I taped off candy cane-esque stripes with nail art striping tape. I painted bands of OPI - Magazine Cover Mouse and OPI - Honey Ryder on to a triangle makeup wedge and lightly tapped the sponge over my nails to create a blended gradient effect. All that was left was to remove the tape and reveal the white stripes!

I love the way these two textured polishes came together. They made such a lovely rose gold shade; it twinkled without looking too metallic. Next time I may just have to mix them completely and nix the gradient!

Big thank yous go to Leslie for hosting this series and bringing awareness to a wonderful organization like Polished Girlz. I know I will be donating as well!

Have a happy (and sparkly) holiday season!
