Folks, today I’m going to get a little cheeky (no pun intended). When I started this blog, never did I believe I would use so many versions of the word “butt” so many times in one post. But today, it’s happening. For today I bring you swatches of Bootie Babe...straight from Super Booty, LLC, a San Francisco start-up who wanted to create a “humorous, bold and completely unique beauty product.” Indeed!Yes, the bottles are butts. LOL. Bootie Babe and their backside bottles launched the 2013 Bootie Babe Collection in May 2013 with 48 3-free shades. Each has an equally rear-end related moniker like Ground Round, Teenie Bikini and Killer Keister, which I’ll be showing you today. All swatches are finished with G&G HK Girl topcoat.
First, my fave, Killer Keister. This shade has a cool, glowy color shift from orange to pink to flashes of gold. Beautiful color! The formula was nice, but I had to use three coats.
Ground Round is a dark cinnamon red crème. The first coat was extremely streaky and I had some issues with application (mainly cuticle drag), but the finished product after three coats was consistent and smooth.
And finally we have Teenie Bikini, a sky blue polish with a fine linear holographic finish. I read a few reviews that said this polish was quite thin. Maybe it’s been reformulated, because I found it had a buttery consistency. It was still slightly sheer at two coats, so I used three.
Overall, I don’t see myself dedicating a shelf in The Mani Cave to rumps. (I don’t need that many butt cheeks in my life!) But I do think it’s a cute and novel idea and the company certainly achieved what they set out to do! I can think of a few people in my own life that I'd love to buy these for as gifts. You get the benefit of the gag, while gifting a quality polish. Combine the cheeky fun with a solid formula and good color selection and Super Booty has a winner.
