I filled in the spaces with a combination of Zoya Raven (black) and Kelly (grey) and saved one space per nail for Zoya Tobey (a bright, nearly neon pink from Zoya's main line) and Mitzi (a lime green matte from the Mod Mattes Collection). I love this color combo!
Like everyone, my tape manis do not emerge problem-free after the tape is removed. I take every precaution to prevent issues, but I still get bleeding, uneven color, or polish that pulls from the nail along with the tape. This is where meticulous touch-up comes in. It's not unusual for me to spend just as much (if not more) time perfecting a nail art look...as it took me to make it in the first place! Ack! If I'm fixing white, I will often use white acrylic paint because it can cover other colors. This creates a texture difference, but finishing with a super generous coat of Seche Vite can disguise your fixes. Here's a rare peek behind the scenes (photo credit: the hubs). You can see the remnants of my 4th of July mani on my right hand!
I hope you enjoyed today's tape mani.
