Okay, so it's day four of Digit-al Dozen Tape Mani Week. I used tape, I swear! I wanted to do a black, white and red look and Vivid Lacquer's houndstooth stamping plate (VL005) immediately came to mind. Anni (the brains behind Vivid Lacquer) recently released some amazing new plates that are available for pre-order. I have my eye on the music one (VL015) for my daughter. You can literally stamp a tune with musical notes on a staff. How cool is that? She also has dinosaurs, dragonflies, leaves, fish, frogs and more. (I'm not pimping plates...I'm just a big fan of Vivid Lacquer stamping plates and I know the next batch will be just as good). See her Etsy store here.

Houndstooth patterned French Manicure using OPI Alpine Snow, Black Onyx and Red

To create this look, I started with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow and a coat of Seche Vite. Then I taped off my tips before stamping the houndstooth pattern in OPI Black Onyx. I did this because I didn't think the red tip would completely cover the black. I waited until that was dry before taping off the base of the nail in order to create the French tip in OPI Red. I finished with another layer of Seche Vite.

I love how graphic this look is. Plus, I think it looks infinitely more complex to create than it really is! Check out the other Digit-al Dozen Tape Manis!
