So for my final mani, I chose “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak. I know…it would have been more appropriate to do this mani on Sendak’s birthday this past Monday. But on Monday, I was rusty…and I wasn’t sure I could pull it off!
The only actual nail polish component is the base and the topcoat. I started with a gradient using Essie Marshmallow and Zoya Skylar. That didn’t have a smooth enough look for me, so I added a single coat of OPI Go On Green! The iridescent finish is a cool touch, I think. I finished that step with Seche Vite before moving on to the paint. I love how the trees turned out on my pinkie and thumb. The characters…well…they’re a little rough. LOL. It’s so hard to get those fine details. A reader suggested I water down the acrylic and that did make a big difference. I finished with one coat of MASH matte topcoat. All-in-all…I’m happy with it! :)
