Shimmer Maria and China Glaze Sunday Funday Ruffian

 press sample
This isn’t going to make any sense…but today's mani reminds me of ruby slippers. I know…it’s not even red. But it’s just so sparkly and Dorothy blue-ish! This was so simple. I got the idea from the Jesse’s Girl Gumdrops Ruffian Tutorial by Kat Stays Polished. It’s such an easy way to make a cool mani with a crème and a glitter. This look features Shimmer Polish Maria.

Shimmer Maria Ruffian Mani

My base is two coats of China Glaze Sunday Funday from the Spring 2013 Avant Garden Collection. I used a small flat nail art brush to “dab” the outline of the ruffian with Maria. This was important since the base of Shimmer Maria is clear and I wanted a sharp line.

After dabbing, I used the brush from the Maria bottle to polish two coats. I didn't use a topcoat because I liked the difference in height and texture. Maria is such a pretty blend of light and dark blues…and the glitter is so dense!
