Digit-al Dozen Does Art: Pollock

It's Day 3 of the Digit-al Dozen theme week. If you've seen the splatter nail art technique, then thoughts of Jackson Pollock aren't far behind. In fact, so many of us in the Digit-al Dozen were planning Pollock manis, that we decided to post them all today. Be sure to check out the others! Link at the end of this post.

I've based my Pollock-inspired mani on his Number 8 (1949) piece. Most people recognize this painting as the picture below [image source]. But actually, this is just a detailed view of a piece of the larger painting.

This was my first time trying the splatter technique and it was comical! Some nails turned out gloppier than others....but I suppose it's more like the painting that way.

Jackson Pollock No. 8 Nails (work / play / polish)

I started with a base of China Glaze Elephant Walk from the On Safari Collection. This polish looks horrid on me! I was certain it would never be worn again! I tell my hubby that I just can't part with polish, even ugly polish, because you'll just never know when you'll need it! The splattered colors are Zoya Jacqueline (nude), China Glaze Kalahari Kiss (darker nude), China Glaze Revolution (orange), Essie Licorice (black), and OPI The "It" Color (yellow).
