Digit-al Dozen Does Festiveness: Jolly Skittles

It's Day 3 of the Digit-al Dozen holiday theme week. This is my THIRD try at a Day 3 mani. One of these days I'll have to post a nail art blooper reel. Oy! Just imagine dip dye nails that look bloody, not pretty. Anyway, I decided I was being too elaborate and frankly, I'm not an elaborate girl. So I settled on something simple. I call it "Jolly Skittles".

The green sparkly nails are three coats of Zoya Ivanka. In yesterday's mani I used China Glaze Running in Circles. I didn't realize these two polishes were so similar. How can I confirm my hunch without reswatching? Go visit The PolishAholic! And of course, she has a comparison post...read about it here.

For my middle finger, I started with two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Then I taped off the stripes and painted every other one OPI Red. Finally, I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Celeb City and a nail art brush to add the silver. My ring finger is one coat of Celeb City and a few dabbing, strategic coats of Milani Jewel FX in Silver.

I'm doing a little trial run here with higher resolution photos. When I first started this li'l blog...I spent all this time setting up the template the way that I wanted it. But then....if I made my photos link to a full-size view...it "broke" the template. I didn't imagine anyone would ever read my li'l ole blog so I just posted pics that were optimized for my blog theme width. Okay...that was TMI. Anyway, one way I can include larger size photos is to add a Gallery at the end of each post. So here it is. Let me know what you think! Is it worth the trouble?

And of course, don't forget to check out the other AMAZING nail art from the rest of the group!

  5. Thanks, Deborah. The other Digit-al Dozen manis were done in advance so I don't have the larger res pictures...but from here on out, I'll include them.
