Yup, just as the name of this post implies...I'm sporting a dotticure using OPIs....Russian Navy (an old favorite) and You Only Live Twice (a new favorite). If you've followed my blog for awhile, you've probably gathered that I don't do a lot of nail art that requires too many steps. I have the same philosophy with cooking. If a recipe has more than 5 ingredients, it's not for me (salt and pepper count as ingredients, BTW). So anyway, on to the mani...
I started with a base of two coats of You Only Live Twice. This color is much richer in person. (You can see my swatches of the entire OPI Skyfall Collection here.) Then I took a small dotting tool and made the dots using Russian Navy. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with Russian Navy. It's in my top five OPIs...ever.
I like manis with an identical, simple pattern on each nail. There's something about repetition that can make a wilder print (like dots or stripes or leopard) seem more subdued.
I'm doing some futzing with my camera settings. It's so hard to get both skin AND polish to look true in photographs. I'm finding that the color of the polish also effects how the photo is captured. I know just enough to be dangerous. LOL
