Essie Armed and Ready

First...I need to take care of some business. My inaugural post of The Polish Room (TPR) got a huge and overwelming response. I feel like we're all designing this polish room together. I received a ton of emails...all with fantastic ideas. The biggest item was the name - everyone loved "The Mani Cave".  And so I shall officially refer to the room as the The Mani Cave (TMC) instead of The Polish Room (TPR)!

Okay...so now on to today's mani. Sometimes I'm just plain ole' late to the party. I was perusing the polish at Target recently and came upon Essie Armed and Ready. It's a gold shimmered Army green that looks almost grey. I immediately referred to my iPhone polish tracker to see if I owned this polish already. I did not. (Is that totally ridiculous that I wasn't sure?) I had to have it (of course). Armed and Ready is one of three polishes in the 2012 Essie Spring Go Overboard Collection. I must have totally missed this one. It's really a spectacular polish with a very subtle gold, almost copper, shimmer.  I'm not a green polish person but I love this look...especially for fall. It's seems odd that it was part of a Spring Collection.

I tried to make this mani a little more exciting with a dip-dye tip in Essie Mochacino. Essie says Mochacina is a "perky gray with shimmer" but I'd call it a greige...lots of neutral beige in this one. It's similar to Butter London All Hail the Queen.

All it took was a medium striper brush. I swabbed Mochacino on the tips with quick strokes.

And finally, I'd like to give a shout out to the gals who took great care of me yesterday during some testing at the hospital. You can find nail polish addicts just about everywhere and sharing my obsession made my day a little more comfortable. So thanks, ladies! I hope you follow the blog and wow your next patients with some exciting stuff!
