Handpainting over Dutch Ya' Just Love OPI?

If you follow me on Facebook (please do!), then you know that as a result of forces outside of my control, I purchased a huge acrylic paint set (because it was pretty). And if you follow me on Pinterest (again, please do), then you know I have a board where I keep my Nail Art Inspiring Prints. Rarely do these prints actually come to fruition on my nails, but it's nice to dream. However, I did take a stab at one of my favorites. Don't be too hard on me...this was my first real try.

Here's my inspiration. It's done by Karen Cattoire. She does beautiful work. You can find pics at her Flickr Photostream.

For this mani, I started with two coats of OPI Dutch Ya Just Love OPI? Only at this point did I realize that this shade looked curiously similar to Zoya Tru. After a bottle inspection confirmed my suspicion - I went hunting the internet and sure enough...they are dupes. Again, I am the last to know. I need to get with the program! I do love this color so no harm in having a backup, I suppose. After a coat of Seche Vite, I used a very small art brush and freehanded a version of the design in orange, pink and blue.

I'm excited to try more designs in acrylic. One of my FB followers also mentioned it is good for stamping. Does anyone have any experience with that?
