Sad Snakeskin: China Glaze Oxygen and Golden Spurs

This has to be one of saddest (and disappointing) manis ever! I almost didn't post it. In my mind, it was going to be cool and funky, but it really just turned out to be something I could wear to a job interview! I started with two coats of China Glaze Oxygen (a years old untried recommended by 74 Days of Polish). Then I stamped the snakeskin using China Glaze Golden Spurs (another untried) and BM 215.

I made the whole hot mess worse by finishing with a matte topcoat (OPI by Sephora). I'm not sure what I was thinking. It just made this barely there nail art even more blah. I guess this look would be a good "baby step" for someone who was a afraid of getting too wild! Actually, I think it looks like my nails are dirty...or diseased. LOL. In any event, I'm going to categorize this one as a "Work Mani"!

I should note that I really did like China Glaze Oxygen. It's a slightly pink sheer creamy white that would be a great clean mani on it's own...with a shiny topcoat!

So help me feel better...what manis were masterpieces in your minds but turned out to be a total disappointments?
